The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends a Varicella, or chicken pox, booster at the 4-year well-check, or any time thereafter as a catch-up. Remember that there are vaccines now needed at the 11-year well-check, which include tetanus, diphtheria, and acellular pertussis; meningitis; and human papillomavirus vaccines. A meningitis booster dose is also needed between 16-18 years. Don't let your child get behind on these very important vaccines!
